How to reduce your Seedance API cost
Updated 2026-10-02
- Draft on Mini or Fast. Most generations are throwaway iterations; use 2.0 or 2.5 only for approved shots.
- Compare hosts. The table shows how large the gap can be; unpinned requests already route to the cheapest healthy host.
- Choose the resolution tier deliberately. Price is per second per resolution — don't render 1080p for a preview.
- Avoid duplicate jobs. Polling is free; re-submitting a slow job doubles the bill.
- Set a monthly cap per key. A runaway loop is the most expensive bug.
See the quickstart for the request format.
Using Seedance is one part of the job.
VideoRouter puts it next to dozens of other video and image models behind one API key, so you can compare providers, prices and fail over automatically. Compare providers on VideoRouter →
